Executive Profile Tuesday Johnson-MacDonald
Tuesday Johnson-MacDonald has extensive program planning, implementation and development experience. Her resume boasts over fifteen years experience working with First Nations communities and organizations – often managing multi-million dollar budgets and large teams of employees and contractors. Tuesday also has excellent interviewing, program analysis, strategic planning, policy development and research skills.
Tuesday’s past experience includes special projects coordination such as the Social Assistance Reforms during the Ontario Rae Government. This project included coordinating regional consultation meetings ranging in size of 50 – 300. She has worked under a joint contract between the Chiefs of Ontario office and the Ministry of Community and Social Services as the First Nations Better Beginnings Better Futures Coordinator. Tuesday during her tenure as the A/Coordinator for the Ontario Indian Social Services Council was also the lead technician coordinating and joining a Provincial Lobby on the Long Term Care Act, which was effective in ensuring that Aboriginal specific parts were included in this Act.
TAP was contracted to coordinate (3) National Health Conferences hosted by the National Aboriginal Health Organization (NAHO). The first conference, Health Symposium, was NAHO's signature conference as it was their first national conference for their organization. It was evaluated as a major success with acknowledgement made to the personalized touches to each person who attended the conference. the Health Symposim was attended by two hundred and fifty (250) people. Of particular note is that this conference was coordinated in a 7 week period including making travel arrangements for over 30 people. TAP was the lead in the coordination of an intimate “Roundtable on Health Ethics and Privacy” with approximately 75 attendees. Services included travel for approximately 50 delegates and production of four PowerPoint presentations.
TAP has worked with the Chiefs of Ontario by taking the lead in the logistical planning of a regional training initiative. TAP finalized the contract negotiations with McMaster University, Centre for Continuing Education in Hamilton, Ontario for the design and delivery of the training. Three distinct sessions were held between 2002 and 2003 for approximately 120 First Nations from across Ontario. TAP managed the registration process and coordinated individual travel plans for over 100 delegates for this event. TAP also incorporated a daily incentive program into the training sessions designed to enhance participants learning experience.
Tuesday has designed and delivered specific training packages focused on Strategic Planning for the Ontario Native Welfare Administrators Assoication, Case Management in an Aboriginal Context for the Curve Lake First Nation. She has worked with the Christian Island First Nation in developing a strategic plan for their children's program and is presently working in collaboration with Johnston Research in a regional program evaluation and the Hamilton World Cycling Championships by coordinating a International Indigenous Festival. |
